The outback is all about heart...

Hiya Reading ninja's, let's talk heart. Mel A Rowe, a wonderful writer who I've been a dedicated fan of for a long time now, has just added book 6 to her Elsie Creek series, and in my opinion it's the best yet...

ROLLED IN DUST

gives us Connor and Que's story, set in outback Northern Territory is our beloved town of Elsie Creek. I've always been an Elsie Creek fan, and now that I'm actually living in outback NT in a real-life version, the books in the series feel all the more like home to me. Elsie Creek is a small Aussie town that's full of heart. One of those battler towns where everyone knows everyone, everyone pulls together, grudges and friendships run long and deep... and tragically things are still very easily overlooked and hidden.

Rolled In Dust is a story full of heart. Heartbreaking history. Heartwarming quirk. Heartfelt friendships. And love that fills your heart and these pages until you just want to disappear inside them forever.

Connor and Que can't be more different on the outside, and yet so similar where it counts. They are both running. They both believe what they've been told and now are spending their lives trying to rise up and live above their pasts while truly believing in their souls that they never really can. This is a couple who were made for each other from the very start - so many years before this life in Elsie Creek.

This is a story that you know from the very first, and yet it still draws you in, making it impossible to put down until the inevitable has been played out on the pages. You will cry as they find themselves and each other. You will feel sick and angry when secrets are brought from the shadows. You will laugh at the antics of a roller-skating, 80's obsessed precocious pixie. But most of all, your heart will fill with the love of a small town and the strength of this couple. And maybe you'll look a little closer at the quiet friend next door, and look past the rumours and recriminations that swell and last forever in a small town. Or perhaps, you'll just click click and find another chapter in the Elsie Creek story - there are another 5 books after all.

Happy reading from my beloved red dirt, outback home that Mel knows so well and shares so beautifully.

As Elsie Creek’s newest resident, Que is way too jaded to go near any man, let alone Connor, the judgemental jerk next door. Busy trying to fit in, she now has to pretend that kissing the beautiful bad boy meant nothing!

Yet the chemistry Connor shares with the feisty single mother is undeniable. So to avoid the temptation of diving too deep, he'll obey her house rules of no afterschool visits, no talk of the past, and forget a forever future. Perfect for this military man dancing with his own demons, eager to return to base and avoid the small-town gossipers.

That is until trouble crosses boundaries in their very own neighbourhood, threatening everything they love — who will be left standing...
